Another weekend of successful DIY'ing in the Pennock household - the blind is up and doesn't look too bad if I may say so myself! The beast drill did the job again!
Apart from that we had a weekend of rugby and motor racing misery, me and Loue went and saw The Coral on Sunday night at the Oxford Carling Academy, which was a pretty good venue to be honest, would definetely go and see more bands there - they have Ian Brown, Pigeon Detectives and Maximo Park playing before christmas, so is promising to see more bands next year.
Anyway - album hint time - if your not a fan of the coral a good start is there self titled debut album:

A good mix of many different styles, but a quality album.

DIY - Hint - Buy a Big Drill
My DIY experience continues - I borrowed Chudders hammer drill to put curtains up above our patio doors and found that it just wasn't up to the job - it broke - sorry chudders.
So I went out and bought a big boy for the job:
SDS.htm">http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7111370/Trail/searchtext>SDS.htm
First hole - took about 3 hours
Second hole - took 30 seconds
Therefore - my DIY tip - buy big and don't waste an evening getting nowhere.
Of the original list we have so far:
Painted front and back doors (both sides)
Put curtains up in 3rd bedroom and dining room
Mowed lawn (don't think that was on list)
This weekend - putting blind in the kitchen. Should be fun as long as we don't have to cut it!

Sounds like a good thing to do - maybe we should all do one soon?? Would love to see Chudders run 10KM - I reckon he's got the physique for an olympic runner....

Wine Festival, Pirate Talk
So the first Newbury Wine festival is nearly upon us, fingers crossed we get a decorative wine glass to keep like we do at the Reading beer festival each year. Can't imagine a hog roast is going to be welcoming us at the corn exchange, or that we will attend in tweed - maybe next year.
Here is the link to the festival if interested:

Stag do......
MMMmmmm - the time is nigh for Rosspo to go on his stag do, everyone has done really well to avoid telling me where i'm going - DL let slip after a few beers after the England loss that i will need my passport! Ha! Nice one DL!
So this leaves me with 2 options - Flying or Eurostar???
I think the Eurostar might be better for the way back - I don't want a repeat of Prague again!! Or a repeat of what happened to Putin in Prague for that matter!
Well, what will be will be - I hope to have a good time, and look forward to seeing all my friends together and then roll on the wedding!!!

Exams........ where do i begin......
Right - I guess this Blogger thing is about getting things off your chest - so with my exam tomorrow this would seem the perfect opportunity to question my existance in accountanting and wander what's the point of it all.........
Hours and hours of work for a 3 hour exam on something some geek has thought up in his / her head to cause as much pain and suffering as possible to all the students, and prove to him / herself that they are smarter than we are. Well your not, and were all smarter than you and have a life that's not just writing exams every 6 months.
Roll on beery Thurday, beery Friday, golfy, knicker shopping, beery Saturday...
